Hello all,
well maybe it is going to happen after all: sped up by regular use of Arkaos GrandVJ, I am considering buying a MacBook Pro.
Being a happy user of VDJ 7 on Windows Vista, I was wondering:
will this combination work under VDJ 7:
- MacBook Pro (2011 model)
- VDJ 7 for Mac in 3-deck-mode
- Ecler Evo5 mixer (4 channel fw audio + midi controller)
- playing audio and video
- Hercules DJ Control mp3 midi controller
(- I don't use turntables)
Also, any experiences with VDJ 7 Mac & Edirol FA-66 fw soundcard ? Again, playing audio and video with that.
Now owning an Akai APC40 midi controller (for GrandVJ), maybe I will also add that to the (Mac) mix.
Anyone using some/all of these devices with VDJ 7 for Mac, I would be most interested in your experiences & suggestions.
Thanks in advance,
best greetings,
Arie

I have Edirol FA-66 and I can confirm it works perfectly with VDJ and Mac. However, it has the obvious limitation of having only two channels so you can't take full advantage of VDJ 7's multi-deck features.

Good to know, thank you !
(btw I have used 3 channels on the FA-66 under Windows, by using the 3rd digital output, routing it through an MD-deck, and then as analogue signal into a mixer)
Anyway, the 3rd channel is not too crucial for me, 2 is also fine.
Hopefully, someone can pitch in on my Ecler Evo5 question?
Thanks,
best,
Arie

What is it that you want to know about the Evo5 exactly? Will it work as a sound card and MIDI-controller with your Mac? Yes and yes.

OK thanks, that answers my question.
Good news then.
The original reason to raise the question was this thread (from 2008 BTW):
http://www.virtualdj.com/forums/98234/MAC_Version_Technical_Support/Ecler_EVO5___Timecode__working_solution_.html
At that time, it seems that there was a problem with Ecler Evo5 and VDJ-for-Mac.
Thanks again,
best,
Arie

I will be able to verify for sure as I own an evo5. I'm not home for a few days though so can't do it just yet.

OK great, I would really appreciate it, if you could let me know about this combination.
Thanks in advance.

It's been since 2008 that I try to get VirtualDJ working with my Evo5 and timecodes. Eager to know if anyone manages to get it working...
