Does anybody have a link to the rules & regulations of the forums, or can tell me where they are posted. ?

The rule is, you don't own the forums so you really have no say in how its ran. This is not a democracy here, its for the people but we the people don't make the rules.

It's not that big of a deal bro
Huey

The rules that I know are:

1) Treat everyone with respect
2) Keep posts as positive as possible
3) Help every member when ever possible regardless of their forum status
4) When in doubt, contact a moderator or support directly

That's a good starting point I think. But if you do stumble across something in writing, please feel free to post it. :)

nothing to do with ownership, where did that come from ?

"say in how it's run" ?

I must be on a different wavelength than you, I can't even comprehend your thoughts.

I'm just trying to learn what is acceptable within guidelines, and what is not.

you know "framework", limiting gray ares and making it better for everyone.

'The rule is" ? Where did you read that ? I need that link please, THAT" is what i asked for (politely), not your opinion in a post (politely).

Are you a Moderator ?

Thanks.

That's great. Where did you read, or how did you learn that knowledge?

I have simply paid attention around the forums over time and have absorbed as much information as I can. I am just sharing the knowledge that I have retained. I don't believe there is anything written anywhere, but I've been proven wrong before.

I'm thinkin' of starting a thread devoted to the "what is acceptable & what is not acceptable" here on the VDJ Forums, So they will show us where we can read the guidelines, or have guidelines written up, or as a last resort we can refer to that thread as a source of helpful information so that we can follow the rules without a negative outcome.

Your thoughts on that ?

A Forum Rules & General Guidelines would be an excellent sticky! Please read before posting in the forums in small print underneath would be fantastic for the community.

Note: There is no need to quote the previous post as you are making a direct response to it and it drives the Moderators crazy

Huey, "No big deal" ?

I think anytime you don't have solid concrete rules available to masses of people that interact with each other through a corporation is a very very very BIG DEAL.

Your thought on a thread devoted to solid forum rules we can go by ?

Well seems I'm not a little kid I don't need rules plastered every where, I go by 1 rule,

USE COMMON SENSE

Do I alwAys follow that rule, Hahaa, no. But for.the most part I do. And let's get real, all your tryin to do is prove a point, you could careless about the rules. And if you did you would have asked what they were in your very first post, which you didn't so bro move along.

I'm done with this as you should be too

plastered everywhere ? Show me where then.

I do care about the rules, you are wrong to judge me, unknowingly.

My proving a point ? i could care less as you will see. this whole thing would nave never happened If I had rules to go by.

I did send in a ticket to find out if it was against any rules, and they said it was fine. Only later after something else occured, then after getting locked, and then having to chase down a reason, and the the right people, then the right result, all could have been avoided with some knowledge and structure. Common sense it not always the same to individuals. Hence rules become the norm in our world or it would be chaotic.

There is no list of rules and regulations - it's mostly down to common sense and the application of usual forum etiquette. It's certainly never been required before because it's obvious to most people.

Common forum etiquette includes:

* Use appropriate language
* Do not use all capitals (ie shouting)
* Treat all users equally
* Do not multi/cross post

Additionally specifically for General Discussion:

* Talking about VirtualDJ, Numark Cue, Numark Virtual Vinyl, AtomixMP3, ... and about DJing in general*
* Please be polite and speak with respect.
* The moderators hold the rights to move or modify posts in order to keep the discussions clear or to facilitate the search.
* "No license user" cannot write personal Email, Msn, Skype, MySpace, Phone number and any other personal contact details in the forum.

I know why you have started this thread and to be honest it's pointless.

If you wish to sell anything on the forum the best bet is to contact the team and run it by them because we have no 'for sale' forum here and all 'for sale' topics are locked.

Atomix have been made aware of your current concerns and rather than let this descend I will exercise my above mentioned right and lock this pending their potential input.

Edit:

Following on from this I would just like to add the following statement:

I am just a forum moderator - I do not work for Atomix, I do not make the rules and I do not decide forum policy.
