is there a limit? While playing a video, I open my Rock folder (5080 items in it) and the video skips. I am using a ASUS G73Jh 64 bit, 6 gig of ram and 640 gig harddrive. The video card is a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 1GB GDDR5.

any help.

Thanks

still the same. Playing a video and load the other side with a video is stalls for 2-5 seconds and then catches up. The video stalls, the audio keeps going. DPC Latency Checker V13.0 shows:
Test interval: 1000us
Current Latency: 236us
Absolute maximum: 968us

LatencyMon v 2.04 show:
Highest DPC routine exe. time 403
Highest ISR routine exe time: 216
Highest hard pagefault resolution time: 16532

It's normal for the VirtualDJ user inferface (Skin) to stop responding for a few seconds while a song is being loaded, but this should not have any effect on the audio and/or video that is playing out live on the external display.

Are you streaming videos direct from disk? Check your 'do not pre-load songs bigger than' setting in CONFIG -> Performances. If videos are being streamed from disk, then your hard disk may not be fast enough to cope with loading two simultaneously.

DPC latency is only important if you are using an ASIO sound card and have set a low buffer size for scratch performance. Using a too low buffer will result in audio glitches such as stuttering, distortion, etc. due to the buffer running out. 968us quite a high latency spike, so you need to find out what is causing this (Wireless and Bluetooth adaptors are commonly responsible for this.)

Please check all the other items on the list of the page above. Particularly background software (Bloatware) that may be unnecessarily using too much CPU and set the Windows theme in Windows 7 or Vista to Windows Basic to prevent video conflicts that may be caused by the Aero desktop (Which is an unnecessary overhead when DJ'ing.)
