Hi

running Vista with 4g dual core lappy AMD processor

VD7

2 x Denon 1200 via midi

I had this sound once or twice on both decks but it seems to be mostly right deck. I have tried the gain controls on both software and on mixer, plus the bass, mids and tops levels. Still got this problem.

Everything is plugged in with quality leads.

then at some point all of a sudden it may go it may take like an hour.

I have done all the disable web cam, wifi internet stufff and more.

Has any had anyjoy in fixing this issue.

Any advise would be greatly received.

mate try either a spurius power lead for your lappy or a ground loop isolator.
just search in browser for both

what is this what does it do or its purpose

It will eliminate ground noise which might be the noises your hearing.

Good luck
Huey

Nah I am reading things on various other posts which beg to differ.

I am playing my decks right now and have been like an hour so far no crackling, but this happened last saturday night on a gig, then at some point I started getting it, played with the gain on software and mixer got one deck sorted, but right deck just played up no matter what I did.

had to play from one deck in the end, and use automix how lame is that

talked to soon soon its started doing it dammmm man right deck again

adjust your latency in config...or download the latest ver. of the software 7.4.

Good Luck...

I have adjusted the latency in VDJ 7 from 256ms to 512ms and ticked safe mode, so far crackling has stoppped. So then I thought ok, how about setting it to the top 1ms bingo crackling big time......

So I set it back to 512ms and safe mode ticked. at present all good but will try again tomorrow night for an hour or so to ensure.

is this the fix.

I am in midi mode too..

Take it off safe mode....

safe mode in or out what is the main functional difference with that.

Also regarding the latency in auto mode with safe mode on or off, what is the main difference here too

I have it on auto and safe mode ticked right now. it seems to be playing fine with no crackles or pops.

in midi mode

How can you use a midi controller without having VDJ Pro!?!?

I am guessing you are using a cracked version?

No cracked version, my friend has virtual dj, I have been using timecode with serato for some time. Now I got some midi decks and trying to use them on his virtual dj if all fails I don't invest any further. Dont want to spend money on a program that may or may not be good for my needs. and further more, he uses time code with his setup also on some denon s1000's

Also been looking at the numark ndx800 which ships with either traktor or virtual dj, cant remember which now.

So thanks for stating the non obvious, but use your nugget before you start to accuse. this forum is for advice on setup and getting it right.

I have never really been a fan of software let alone midi control. No back up when shit goes wrong.

but in todays market you got to be init to win it. SO I am now opening my horisons so to speak.

cheers for your input though.

Take it off safe mode....

we think we have defo solved this. We seem to get no crackles when we use auto latency with safe mode ticked. followed by it seems ok with latency set at 43ms i think. safe can be unticked here too.

Any more thoughts on this would be great my friend.

thanks once again.

Leave Safe Mode off..........

;-)

I had a similar issue with crackling, I found it only really happened when I had my laptop power connected.
Since I bought an RMX midi controller and started using usb for audio out, I assumed it was due to me using my crappy headphone jack as my line out.
USB + RMX = clean as a whistle.

no one still aint said why to leave safe mode off. or its mmain purpose.....

I gave you the best advice based on My own experience, but if you need A TextBook answer then Read your owners manual Page 36 and 37, and Yes leave it Off...

Look here;

If my memory serves me right I read that the Safe Mode was to be used for "older" pc's.
How old?? only you can make that judgement call.

again guys thanks for the great info. My laptop is only year and a half tops since i bought it.

but if I have to retain safe mode on then I suppose I will have to......

I will try a different latency setting later maybe worse case 43ms or something......

To a degree timecode cd, we never had any problems.
