thinking about buying one of these . ive been looking at getting another cheap vdj set up . ive looked at the numer dj2go but it doresnt have enough controls 4 me .
i was wondering if i get a midi controller without a sound card like the ctrl one , can i still cue mix (cue ---> masterout) i like to mix in the headphones alot not so much one ear mixing . i bought one of these cheap usb sound cards off ebay to check if its possible .with the usb sound card i can have that as the cue monitor for the heaphones , but when i move the cue mix dial nothing happens so im just wondering if you can do this . or do u have to be using the same sound card to cue mix (like in built ones on midi controllers )

basically i can have a master output (the built in sound card on laptop)
usb sound card as a monitor

but

i want to mix between the two in the headphones , i dont think you can do this though can you with two separte sound cards like this ????

cheers 4 any help

I do this when setting cue points and planning out sets, I use the usb soundcard as my master out and the lappy for my headphones. It works for me. You shouldn't have any problems.

i dont think you can , i can set up vdj so that one soundcard can listen to the plf(the cue channel) , and the internal sound card outputs the master (or i can reverse this)

but the whole having one card as a master output and still being able to cue mix in the headphones in the other card(listen to both the cue channel and the master out through the headphones) i dont think you can do because your crossing between both sound cards

???

does any1 else know if this is possible

Yes you can........what do you think "Cue Mix" means?? I do it all the time with 2 soundcard, the usb I have the master running out and my internal I use as my headphones. Have you even tried it yet?? If you don't wanna use 2 cards then run it mono separated.........the choice is yours. VDJ can handle multiple soundcards.............

at the moment , i dont have a midi controller so just using the laptop (keyboard) . to get cue mix on controlllers i usually just remap a control/slider or whatever to headphone_mix . i just cant get it working with two separte cards not sure why . i think it might be that the cue button is acting as headphone volume not headphone mix on that skin , cant work out how to change it . usually have no probs at remapping when i have acontroller . i dont know what keys on the keyboard control the cue heaphone volume cant find it on the mapping list ggggrrrr

Ok try for your headphones choose "Primary Sound something" and see if that works. I know on mine if I choose the wrong one it won't work aswell. You might have map it but I don't think with the le version your allowed to do that.....

Let me know, we'll get it working :-)
