I'd like to get a Feel for the difference in how events are Organized in Different Local Areas.
For Example:
From my Club DJ days:
Arrive at the Club about 6:30-pm Check the lights and sound system.
Replace any burnt Bulbs.
Find any cracked CD's the other DJ didn't tell me about - (Until I switched to software)
Have Dinner
Start "Loonie Hour" ($1.00 draft, highballs,& bar shooters) at 8pm
DJ till 2:30 am
Strip Club:
Same as above only add to - Dealing with the "Dancers"
Timing the V.I.P dance rooms
Running Wet-T contests & Jello Wresting nights.
Then I wanted to make some real money:
Weddings in my area.
Show up at 4:30pm
Set-up Sound, Light and Video Display in the reception hall, sometimes with the booth, video display, & lights in 3 different locations in the hall (long cable runs)
Dinner music starts at 6pm
Cocktails background boring crap until dinner & speeches
Wait for the MC to bring me back my wireless mic, Take over Mc'ing the First dance, Mother/son dance, Father/Daughter Dance, Bouquet toss, Garter removal & toss
Finally Dj the dance until 1am
Unfortunately there aren't many "Jack/Jill or Buck & doe" Parties, or Even "Socials" in Alberta like in Ontario or Manitoba
But weddings are a Long, Drawn out affair here, I'm curious to here what it's like in other Area's
