Topic: Advice needed on the Numark Mixtrack

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

Hi guys

I have done bundles and bundles of research on what controller would suit me, and i decided on the Numark Mixtrack Pro.... I have been waitin till i get paid to order mine..... Anyway, paydays comes and im on the phone to my local DJ equipment shop ordering my controller and all of a sudden the guy from the shop advises me to go and purchase the Numark IDJ3 telling me that its identical to the Mixtrack Pro plus you get an I Doc built in.... I thought "well if its identical plus an I Doc for an extra tenner"... "Bargain" so i went ahead with the purchase..... Anyways..... I get home and go online and see that the layouts are totally different, the e.q's are in the wrong place and there are no hot cues or effects options.....

My questions to you guys is....

1)The controller is assignable, so basically i could taylor make a layout that suits me, couldnt i?????????

2)Would this effect me if i wanted to use a skin if i dramatically changed my layout....

sorry for the long ass thread,,,,,

thanks

andy

hiya andy, with regards to your questions, yes the idj3 is mappable so you can customise it to your liking, and also, no it wont have any effect on the skin you are using. it doesnt matter which order the buttons are in the skin remains the same.

however, i would personally have asked to try the idj3 before buying it. im not certain which is better out of the two, but from what ive read in the past the idj units aint all that. however, there are a huge mount of mixtrack pro users within our community and communities of other rival softwares.

the mixtrack seems to be used by a great dea of pro dj's.

dont forget you are well within your rights to return the item for a full refund or exchange if it isnt up to standards.

mmmmmmmm

thanks blulite, thats very interesting..... Do you think il get away with trialing it at home and if im not happy then returning it....

thanks

yes, as long as you dont register the software before returning it then you will be fine to run a home test. consumer rights allow you to do just that. if you aren't satisfied with a product you're fully allowed to return it, the worst that can happen, is you get store credit. but you are still able to return it either way.

a little advice for future reference though, test the products in store and research them online before making your purchase.

panic over, i managed to get the shop to swop it for a Mixtrack Pro, it arrives tomorrow!!!!!

:)

You will be completely satisfied with the Mixtrack Pro...I have used it at countless gigs now & love it...not only that I have some former dj's telling me how they wished when they were doing it the equipment was that small & u could put ur music on a hard drive...lol Oh & 2 my suprise I had a gig in another town & a Pro DJ with his own radio show was doing a gig with the mixtrack pro...I have felt a little underrated sometimes at gigs cuz I use the mixtrack pro but after seeing that guy with his I was like yeah I made the right purchase....I would love 2 get a mixdeck though....It would just be heavy carrying it around especially when I do my out of town shows, we hardly have room for everything now I could only imagine if I would add that 2 all the luggage. lol
