Okay i'm not a scratch dj but was curious how the hell to scratch like this?

It would be cool to mix some scratching in with my normal mix sets. I know its not something you can learn overnight, but maybe some tips or pointers.

thanks,
Pete

First off, he's using a scratch mix loaded into right deck that contains several samples in a row. The cue points are set on whatever he's got loaded in left deck, and he's using the hot cue keys. Don't remember if he's using all 4 decks, or 3 of 4, but obviously thats what the NS6 was made for.
That dude makes it look easy.... trust me, it isn't.
All about practice... so they say, but I think you have to know someone with some scratching ability to get the basics down. They say once you learn the basics, the advanced stuff is all based on that.
Check out the "DJ Kid Capri" videos on You Tube if you want to really see masterful skill.

I wish I could do that. I can not get my cuts to sound that sharp and I cannot figure out how to do it.

check out dj angelo on youtube, he taught me how to do flares in a week, he is really informative and breaks down every move so they are easy to learn

I still can't get used to these controller not having motorised platters, been an ex turntable guy it seems weird.

The NS7 was best, guesss thats why this new controller is the NS6 because it's got crapper jogs lol

Thanks ill check him out. I'm not looking to become a scratch dj it would just be cool to learn that technique.

My cutting was a compkete shambles for ages, then one day it just clicked. I actually worked it out pkatimg around with tge transform effect on my cdj. The effect uses cuts of 1 3/4 1/2 and 1/4 beats. Platter control can d a simple back and forth movement to the beat to start with till you get your cuts down a bit. Thenext thing you need is to work out some patterns
