is the NS6 compatible with the new version of VDJ. Was looking into getting one but don't wanna make the investment until I know for sure.

Yes, I use it every weekend for weddings.
Works great... a few little things you have to do to make it work correctly but we have been assured that the next update from Virtual DJ will fix these minor issues.
