Topic: ddm4000 question

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

Alright, here is the deal, I am looking at adding to/expanding my setup for ease of use. Right now I am using an RMX and timecode setup with the timecodes as decks 1 and 2 and the RMX decks as 3 and 4. Complete pain in the ass to say the least. So I am looking at getting a 4 channel midi mixer and adding 2 DN-S3700's (in midi mode) to my technics. I was looking at the DN-X1600 and 1700 mixers but they are way out of my price range at the moment, same for anything pioneer. So I have started looking at the ddm4000. Its 4+ channels, midi (so I can control effects, samples, etc in the software via the mixer like I do with my RMX) and seems to be what I am looking for for a good price. Which brings up the question I have.

It is my assumption that as long as I run the mixer in midi mode the timecodes will work without the use of an external soundcard..... Am I correct in this assumption? I have seen a few ads on craigslist and such saying that they are also selling external soundcards with them for timecode setups..... But doesn't the ddm4000 have a built in soundcard that would allow me to run timecodes as long as I had it in midi mode? Any help in this matter would be very helpful before I go throwing money down the drain cause I want to avoid getting an external soundcard as much as possible just to keep things simple. I am a huge fan of the K.I.S.S. Method (keep it simple stupid). Thanks in advance for your help.

Unfortunately the ddm doesn't have a built in soundcard so you will need a card with at least 4 stereo ins and outs to set it up properly, so an Audio 8 or 10 would be ideal,

I was affraid of that...... Damnit! Oh well, back to the drawing board I guess.
