Topic: Best controller?

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

Hi. Looking at getting a numark ns7 - a fine controller, no doubt. But ive heard that it doesnt run optimally on VDJ - lag/latency etc. I want to do video mixing, with scratching, etc, and obviously responsiveness is critical.

Any tips on this?

I love the platters on the ns7 (but not the weight!) but am i better off with something like the ns6, or denon mc6000?

Heading to the dj store in a couple of hours, credit card at the ready - any advice asap would be great!

Thanks all!

all three are great controlllers, and from whay ive read on the forums the NS7 works perfectly well with VDJ. obv all controllers have their downfalls and yes they all do need a bit of tinkering from time to time but the NS7 is not realy any different compaability wise than the NS6 and the 6000.

its probably down to a atter of personal preference. i suggest spend at least half hour on each unit in the dj store mixing some tracks but use vdj. that way you will get a better feel for what you want.

Thanks BluLite. Good to hear this about the ns7 - on my way to the store to give it a spin!

In my opinion the NS7 is a pro piece of gear compared to the other two. Get the FX and a case with it, you wont regret it!

Its apples and oranges comparing a 6k to a ns6.
Totally depends on how portable you want to be, size and weight is a big factor.

The ns6 is hands down a better controller than the 7 imo.

My answer to this was to have two rigs, one big coffin with Denon 3700s/19" AVM 02 video mixer and smaller is a VMS 4 or Reloop w/MAudio FTP
Pics in my blog if you wanna peek.

I use them both equally btw, totally depends on where I set up and how much space is available.

The NS6 is the best controller I have ever owned.

There are a few very minor issues but they are nothing at all..

Very solid unit for sure!

I don't see many bedroom DJ's spending $1K on a controller. The NS6 is just as "Pro" as the NS7 is. It really depends on what YOU want. I personally like the NS6 better, it has 4 channels and IMO laid out better, although similar. The FX is built in which is a plus as well. The biggest difference is do you want motorized platters or not? This is probably the biggest factor for you to decide. I LOVE the platters on the NS6 I think they are nearly perfect in weight and feel. But that is me.

Like stated above all three listed are some of the best available controls period! I didn't like the small size of the MC6000 is why I dont have one, but there are others here that wouldn't trade theirs for any other.

i have the ns7 love it & have never looked back. i did go to guitar center and try the ns6 ? but just like other guys have said it depends on wut you want. for me (I have to have spinning platters) its just me. ive Dj so long with TT thats going to a none spinning platter just sucks

Thanks everyone for the tips - major!

Spent a good couple of hours in the dj store yesterday, the ns7 was amazing, but after 30m on the ns6 have decided to go for that one. Both are a dream to use - even when mixing the dj shop's tiny mp3 library! But although the platters on ns7 are brilliant, the ns6 just feels great and is a lot more portable.

Gutted to then find out the store is out of stock! But i'll pick one up next week...

Thanks again everyone!

You will NOT be disappointed with that decision. I too think the NS6 feels amazing and was the deciding factor for me too. Its the "In-Between" the NS7 and MC6000 in size and just has everything that I wanted in a controller.

The only thing on the wish list is the "Kill" buttons on the EQ. I love this feature of the RMX and wish it was on the NS6 as well.

hi can any one help me decide which controller is the best for virtual dj i have the pro version I'm thinking about ns6 pls help

Yes I agree with everyone here, I like the Ns6 better than the Ns7.

boils down to this (in my opinion) if you want & must have spinning platters like me. then its NS7 hands down. if you don't care about spinning platters then its NS6. plain and simple. both are all in one, but NS7 is much heavier & the NS6 way light easy to carry around

Yeah I agree. I only use the platters for quick browsing through songs.
