so i am using a 7.1 sound card for my head phones and the on board sound card for my mains and cant do the reverse cause my on board isn't loud enough so then I will have no monitor,any ideas what do to for better sound quality for my mains cause right now it sucks.Hope this makes sense and any help would be great.

you can route your headphones and mains out of any channel on your 7.1.
also if your mains aint loud enough try going into control panel and checking to see if your main system volume is turned down or the output is not limited.
