Long time Pro User, VIP Member, Beta Tester since VDJ 1.0!
I have a really amazing setup. Macbook Pro, VDJ Pro 7, Two dedicated 16GB iPads, a plug in wall wifi router (not connected to internet) and a real table top mixer. the ipads are the controller for VDJ; It is the rig from the future! I love it.
PROBLEM IS...
Halfway through a fice hiour seet, the ipads iRemote froze. I looked at the macbook screen and the onscreen graphics were frozen but the music on both decks kept playing. I switched to my iPhone as a backup, and lost 1/2 my crowd.
What I tried...
turn off then back on both ipads, did not work
unplugging wifi router, no dice.
check iPad and Macbook wifi was still connected to wifi router
closed VDJ then re-open. Still would not connect.
tried internal mac sound card, maya 44 usb, and traktor audio 2 USB, it is NOT the sound card
All other programs on Macbook are CLOSED
macbook is reloaded fresh 10.6.8
there is no internet connection to the plug in router, no other traffic on the wireless
all devices still show connected to wifi router
tried connecting to the clubs wifi, still crashed
latency is set to Auto
I also checked the VDJ database, no problems
checked bandwidth of both iPads when connected to VDJ, it never exceeds 150Kbps, way in range of a wireless G Router
ran all my tracks through an mp3 checker, deleted everything that was suspect
all tracks have been scanned by VDJ
ran disk utility, no problems with file system
I am not using video
using the built in VDJ skin and no foreign effects
does not happen immediately, takes hours for crash to happen
my CPU low is less than 50%
the HDD is NEW, i got no OSX beach balls
what finally got me running again...
reboot Macbook, relaunch program. it was a very stressful situation. I am guessing the problem is with program because both decks were frozen on the macbook.
Please, anyone, I really need help here. Does anyone know what the problem could be??
Thank you in advance for the replies

thank you for the reply. that is very interesting if that is the problem. is there a way to fix this? delete the other remembered wifis? I tried pulling the wifi router off while it was playing and it continued to play. so I am not convinced that wifi is the issue.

Setup an Ad-hoc connection (computer to iPhone/IPad) as the iPhone/IPad will not connect to an internet stick.
For PC go here -> http://alaashaker.wordpress.com/2009/03/27/connecting-your-iphone-to-your-laptop-using-a-wireless-ad-hoc-network-iphone/
For Mac go here -> http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/how-to-create-a-wireless-ad-hoc-network-between-macs.html

It might be wireless interferece. This can be caused by another nearby router using the same channel, a microwave, a cordless phone or another 2.4ghz device. Try changing the channel 3 channels up or down till you find one that works.

Tried again last night, crashed two times. It was so unreliable I turned off Wifi and ran with the mouse using automix the entire night with no further problems. This rules out the tracks, the macbook
Questions:
This is definitely iRemote or WiFi related as it was stable the entire night after disconnecting iRemote.
1 would it work better on the PC side if I ran bootcamp?
2 Will VDj recognize iRemoteby USB cable instead of using wireless?
3 Is there a log I can view or a resource monitor I can use to see what is happening?
also tried tonetable, too much latency.

I give up. I posted a thread, contacted support... There appears to be no resolution to this problem. . The setup is too unstable, I returned the 2nd iPad.

That's a shame, because that was a wicked set up you had going on.
