I only tend to write on here occasionally, but I read the forums most days to see what's happening and I've been using vdj for about 5 years now (wow, I hadn't realised it had been that long!).
Anyway, apart from DJ'ing at a local bar on Friday nights and doing top end mobile discos at the weekend, my day job is as a maths teacher at Gartree High School in Leicester, UK... And I want to start a DJ club for the kids at school, here's the plan so far:
-VDJ home edition on the 20 laptops that we have.
-Some using the laptops own speakers with those cheap usb sound cards for headphone monitoring

and some with splitter cables hooked up to some kind of hardware like cheap mixers, midi controllers, etc.

SO HERE'S WHERE YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO HELP!

If you've got any old hardware at all that you don't have a use for, save it from the bin and donate itl!
Old mixers or midi controllers (or even other things like soundcards, headphones, mics, speakers, cd players, decks, if you're feeling generous!) would really help. Unfortunately there is absolutely no budget for this kind of thing, but I'm happy to pay the cost of postage out of my own money if you have something usable.
Maybe you've got an old mixer and one of the channels doesn't work, that'd be okay for beginners, or ones with crackly faders, or maybe or a midi controller that's a backup of a backup and you don't need it anymore. No matter how basic it might just help inspire a few 10 to 14 year olds to get into DJ'ing... :D
