You have to make this decision on your own. Ask yourself if you want rack mount, or tabletop, and does size matter. Do you need an optional cd drive, or is this something you can do without? Does the layout fit your style? Does the price matter? Is the build quality an important factor? Which one feels good to you? We cannot answer these questions for you.

Well, I tried both and took the Numark back.. The numark was easier to get going but after reading and getting the right asio drivers the HC5000 is much better.

Does the "itch" controller in the center of the deck map out and work properly with virtual dj? That's my only potential hangup, if i'm going with the 5000 over the 4500, I want to be able to use that extra functionality. All in all the 5000 looks awesome.
