Hello everyone,
so, at the moment, I'm running a pair of Pioneer CDJ2000's and use a Pioneer DJM900Nxs as my mixer. I currently use a USB stick or CDs for mixing, but would like to also use a DJ software for greater flexibility (e.g. more cue points, beat syncing, etc). Now, the thing is that I'm completely blind. I use Voice Over, a screen reading software built into Mac OS X to use my Mac. I've found that the VirtualDJ is partly Voice Over accessible on the Mac. So, what I can do is basically access the whole settings menu and configure pretty much all aspects of the program. The main application window, however, is completely unreadable.
So, what I was thinking is this: I could use timecode disks with my CDJs and have the output sent to VDJ. The DJM900Nxs already has an integrated sound card for sending Timecode signals to a DJ software (it's Traktor Scratch certified as well), so no worries about that. So, here are my questions:
Would this setup work with VDJ? Are there any instructions on how everything would need to be hooked up? As the VDJ main window is inaccessible, would it be possible to connect a Midi control pad to VDJ and then some knobs to functions such as selecting playlists and loading tracks?
Basically, my goal is to setup the CDJs with timecodes and another Midi controller for enhanced functionality and then being able to do everything using only these devices and not the actual VDJ user interface.
Thanks for any help, and sorry for the long post!
Robin
