Topic: IDJPOOL vs ZIPDJ

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

I have been a member of zipdj for about a year and really like the service. The website works well, the songs are well organized and with multiple simultaneous downloads you can even work around their slow site speeds. The house, top 40 and dance categories are well represented and getting full cd releases at once sometimes is nice but I have few issues. One is that you have to unzip all the files after downloading them, not a huge deal as I use "unzip them all" but it is an extra step. The real problem is the rock and country categories are real thin and don't get most of the new releases or top songs. I think the back catalog for a whole year of country only had like 100 songs. I live in KY and really need better access to country and rock songs. Trance and House just don't cut it :)

I am thinking of switching to IDJPOOL - how does it compare to ZIPDJ? I think part of the problem for me with ZIPDJ is that it is based in Canada and different things are popular there.

If i switch to IDJPOOL i would get the VIP MP3 package so i can get whatever I want from all the categories.

The problem for us right now is that ZipDJ is the only AVLA (Audio Visual Licensing Agency) approved digital pool. This forces many of us Canadians to use this service as we want to be legit and don't need an agency fining us for un-approved material. I have been with ZipDJ since the beginning (3 Years) because of this.

I don't feel that what they offer is all that popular. Sure, the top 40 and dance stuff is usually out before it hits the radio and they do usually have the latest club and hip-hop but this is not the status quo for what people are listening to around here. I live 40 minutes from the ZipDJ offices and the area is very culturally diverse - in the tour down there I would typically pass 20 to 25 clubs/bars: 3 being country, 2 rock, 1 underground, 6 to 8 being ethnically oriented and the rest mainstream. I need that country and rock music just as bad as you do because I need to be just as diverse as my clientele.

I agree that ZipDJ does fall very short here but it's not the country - it's the guys running it.

I am new to this board and also use zipdj. So far it seems like a great service with a lot of tracks. I know this was an old post but I have noticed their country section has really picked up in the last little while.
Anyone else noticing this or is it just me? haha

Hi! New to this forum and noticed this posting. I would also agree that zipDJ is well worth the money. Been using it for about 2 years (after taking a year off for school so no DJing) and I really like it. Once thing I noticed they added were the Essential Packs. Really like those cause it gives me an idea of what is hot and has often lead me to check out other tracks and mixes by artists they include.
