Topic: Help With New Controller

I am looking for a new controller....I am currently using the Mixtrack Pro. I want something that I can use to play cd's if I have/need to because at some places that I dj they have artists come in & perform....I have been in love with the Mixdeck from day one so I was looking at getting the Mixdeck Express but it DOES NOT have the Hot Cues buttons, in order to get those I would have to get the new Mixdeck Quad.....I don't need 4 channels & plus that $1000 is a little to pricey for me....So what controller would you all suggest????? Or does anyone have a solution to where maybe I can just add some reasonably priced hardware to go with my mixtrack pro that would give me the ability to play cds....Any & all advice is greatly appreciated....

get a set of novation dicers to go with a mixdeck, that way you will have 30 possible buttons to play with... or just map a shift button to swap the loop buttons for cue buttons, the only other all in one controller would be the gemini cdmp 7000 which would cost a bit more than the mixdeck.

Just get a regular MixDeck - just because new models are coming out doesn't mean you can't buy the original

JBart that's what I was thinking about but hell some of those that I have seen are still around $500 so I was like if I get that I might as well get the Express....then when I actually went 2 numark.com & actually looked at the pictures of the Express I saw that & it was a deal breaker for me....Cuz I am at the point now I am playing with my loop ins & outs & hot cues....It would suck with all of the times of practicing 2 make me a better dj would go 2 waste.....lol

Yeah I Don't think you could get me to trade my mixdeck for an express. The big difference is that the mixer is MIDI but once you get used to the Mixdeck analog mixer you won't notice the difference.

I started with a Mixrtrack pro and now use the MixDeck. Neither the Express or the Quad is really a direct replacement for the MixDeck it more like the Express is between the Mixtrack Pro and the Mixdeck and the quad is the next step above the Mixdeck

Yeah I completely understand what u mean....before I bought my Mixtrack Pro I played on my buddy's Mixdeck back in like January....I didn't have that kind of budget & the gigs I was planning on getting I was like I won't need cd's & then I started getting asked 2 do different types of gigs & now it would be nice 2 have the option so I won't have 2 worry about VDJ not reading cd's I put in the macbook (have had that issue before...Itunes would read the disk but not VDJ) Then about a month or so ago my buddy asked me 2 DJ at a party that he was throwing at a club & I did it & he told me 2 bring my computer & my HD that he would have his speakers & mixdeck there & I mean after playing on it for 5 hours I really fell in love with it.....I just can't believe on Numark's site they are still selling the original for $599

Oh & I think if I bought the Mixdeck then I wouldn't have 2 upgrade ever again.....because it is a all in one unit...

Too bad the quad isn't out yet cuz I am itching to get it, which would mean you might be able to find a deal on a gently used Mixdeck:) You are in TN right? I am in KY and went to college for a while at Cumberland University, spent a couple weekends in Knoxville along the way :)

Not gonna be looking 2 buy until about January....right now all of the funds are gonna be tied up into the kids xmas....they would kill me if I bought me something new right now lol
