I dont believe this...went to try and "repair"(right click and...) on the internal wifi card that had died cause the external netgear dongle was'nt so hot,well the screen went Black with a bunch of lines..and apparently screwed up the Nvidea drivers..after trying everything...we decided (me and a friend to install fresh O.S. and start again.well turns out it wont take the pin number on the tag,and would take another Xp disk i have,so then it he came up with windows7...but while i had my back turned he saved only the C drive,NOT the download files or documents!!! I've lost all my skin projects...but one at the upload spots...this is a set back!...dang!
PS...moderators u can delete the other post i put.....my broser shut down after uploading and did'nt think the post went through!...guess the curse it still upon me...

It's probably too late now, but you should always make sure that you regularly backup all files that are important to you, including your VirtualDJ database and entire music collection.
File syncronisation utilities can be this an easy and even automatic task (E.g: To external USB hard disk.)

Hey there,
I would suggest, for anyone who develops anything, to start using subversion. You can backup your code, track changes to the letter and revert to previous versions if you took a wrong turn.
If you have a spare system or linux based NAS you can setup your own inhouse server (and dont forget to backup this as well :P), or you can use one of the many free hosted services. For example that of google: http://code.google.com/p/support/wiki/GettingStarted

Thanks everyone...well... that was on my 2nd Lappy which i had not updated the rescent Xml hacking I did and the Graphics for versions done on the 2nd machine (Alienware m9700) which had higher resolution...it was there that i've made and still was working on my Beta "RMX style 4 deck mod" ( the songs/video files where pretty much the same on both so i still have that)...but...this mourning I used my head and thought get them skins back from where i uploaded them ...and my fave its here at Virtual Dj pending Review..BUT..I was able to downloaded from there!!! (THANK U VDJ!!)this is the ALIEN Green version I've recently made a video with,and the "Red Alien "version that my BETA testers got from me,its at a File share site,so i got that back as well ,and those are my main concerns....its what I've been working on though the other was tweaking the old laptop with new drivers on windows XP Pro but I was'nt able to install XP again and had to change to windows 7,well he forgot something the original seller of this Alienware told me..."to get the SLI dual mode for the video cards to work ,it must be done in the Bios half way in between the installation of the new O.S. (something like...turn the computer off BEFORE it goes to Bios,THEN restart,go to BIos and engage the SLI mode there,then continue withe the O.S. install!!!..might have to do this again...whew! but I'm glad i got the 2 last skins I've been making and mixin with...yeap!

YES! found all my documents and downloads in the "C" drive saved in a "windows old" folder (duh! did'nt see the new windows 7 installed "C" drive size at almost full...thought I Lost all my work done on the Alien Laptop.but also it did'nt occur to me that i have a 2nd drive on this Alienware thats NOT running on Raid mode and dude could had copied all that there but not sure how this happened (partitioned/)...but I still got my skin mods!!! and my recent video edits and mixes!! its a miracle!!...he,he
