Topic: CANT LOAD SKINS ON MAC - VirtualDJ Pro Basic.

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

Hi, I have purchased VDJ Pro Basic on my Macbook Pro (Running Snow Leopard) and although i can open VD i cannot use downloaded skins, i have followed the instructions carefully provided on this website on how to install the skins, (downlaod the Skin with the apple logo, and copy the downloaded file without unziping it to the Skins folders in Virtual DJ which can be found under the library folder.), however, when i open VD and go to change the skin i cannot.. as they dont appear in the list, only the original ones...

I have deleted the folder and re-installed VD and restarted my MAC, but i still cannot use new Skins.

Please if anyone has had this problem and fixed it.. share it : ) !! Thank you.

Make sure that you copy the files under the cue folder. when you download the file and install the file, the files will be put in a virtual dj folder instead of the numark cue folder. all you have to do is copy the files from the virtual dj folder and paste it to numark cue/skin folder.

I searched for the "cue" folder which does not exist. I am still stuck with the "VirtualDJ not Found" error. I have even tried looking at the package contents which does not resemble the current .zip within my skin folder.

Once you downloaded the skins file will have this two types some are ZIP and some are APPs. For the ZIP files you can copy directly to this folder MAC DH / USER / YOUR COMPUTER NAME (e.g. SMITH) / DOCUMENTS / VIRTUALDJ / SKINS/. For the APP file you have to double click to install the skin files. Then to change your current skin in your VDJ goto: TOP RIGHT CORNER OF VDJ SKINS / CLICK CONFIG/SETTING / CLICK SKIN TAB / SELECT THE SKIN YOU LIKE / CLICK THE BLUE "OK" BUTTON. If it is having some errors message meaning that skins doesn't support your system try to choose another one as not all of them fully supports all, there are some that works some are not.

I have tried both methods. I have downloaded .zip and placed it in the skins folder and also tried running the app. When I place the zip file into the folder it never recognizes it. When I try to run the app it simply states "VirtualDJ not found" I can change skins with the default skins within the directory.

I am also having this issue: Click on the App and I get "Virtual DJ Not Found"

Mac, running Lion

When you try to install an older add-on, you may get the error message: VirtualDJ Not Found. I am having this issue

This is because the installer for VirtualDJ v7.0.3 and above has changed. On PC, Microsoft's standard .MSI format is now used. On Mac, the default folder location has changed to be compliant with Apple's App Store. Where is the new default folder on Mac?

Some older plugins are not compatible with this due to their old installer.

To fix this problem, you will need to install VirtualDJ v7.0.2, then install the latest version again (Install over the top of v7.0.2, do not remove it.) I just bought this yesterday and installed it so I have the latest version. Still doesn't work. I suspect the plugin is looking for an old folder structure that is no longer there. How to solve that problem if not via the latest version of the software?

hey guys good day need a little help i have a macbook pro i delete the virtual dj skin file folder in the document and now when i try to reinstall it doesn't want to open up and now virtual dj saying cannot find the skin file in virtual dj document or library folder. please reinstall the application. but when i reinstall the application it says the same thing. help help thanks.

The best way to fix the installer issue is to make a symbolic link alias to the old location:

Replace the YOURNAMEHERE with your user name and run this in Terminal:

ln -s /Users/YOURNAMEHERE/Library/VirtualDJ /Users/YOURNAMEHERE/Documents/VirtualDJ

Now all the (old format) installers will work. A normal Finder Alias does not work.
