Topic: Can an effect be independent of the deck?

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

Hi,

I was wondering can an effect be independent of the track status?

What I mean is, lets say I apply an effect on a track but I stop the track, the effect will stop also.

But lets say I would like to add an echo to an ending track, once the track ends, the effect wont continue. Is there a way to accomplish this?

pretty much all the effects in vdj only effect the playing track, so if you stop the track, they have nothing to effect, however there are a the exceptions of the roll effects and tex's amazing echodoppler effect, which will do exactly what you want, however you can't just press a button with this effect, there are two sliders that must be used for the effect to echo out as you want. I have made a pretty good one in this post for a knob. It's about 3/4 of the way down the page..

to make it work, you need to record the echo in the first section of the knob that controls the wet/dry then you can filter or warp it out depending on which way you turn the knob after it passes 50%

Nice.

Ill have a look at that.

What I use is the flanged echo out effect. You can set it for how many beats you want the echo to be (I use 8), and then it will stop the track automatically after the 8 beat echo.
I actually don't even use the flange much, I have it turned almost all the way down so it's almost just a plain echo.

Also the "break" effect will stop the track as well, so it's like pushing the "play/stop" button on a turntable, you get that "shewww" effect (dont know how else to describe it lol). You can set how long or short the break sound is, and once the sound is done it stops the track.

Jynxx

can you place a link here for the effect which would echo? thanks i'd really love to try it out.
