The idea is to build a case like this but I want to keep cables to a minimum as always.

 

I was using a blutooth keyboard with built in trackpad for a while. There are a few decent options:

But I got fed up with battery and connection issues so went back to wired with this - don\'t plan on going back to wireless any time soon.

For what its worth, I just did this.

I found the keyboard drawer pushed me away from the controller and found myself using the lappy keyboard anyway rather than pull the drawer each time I wanted to search.

Thanks Bart but can those keyboards be fixed into position I can't see any rack ears.

I though about the tray siding back on me, I wondered if there was a locking mechanism with these draws. Probably have to make my own locking system.
 

I was assuming you would be building your own tray. I have always been less than enthusiastic about the build quality of most keyboard trays and almost always build my own. There was one option with a slider in my list.
