Hey all, This would not be for personal use, simply to use for VDJ, Sony Sound Forge and music storage. Checking out the recommended specs for VDJ I found this laptop http://www.walmart.com/ip/Toshiba-17.3-320GB-C675-S7200/16652448 and it seems like it would get the job done. The two usbs will support my need for the mixtrack and DJ/IO and the processor is powerful enough. Any advice would be appreciated, my budget is $500.

Hi, I'm running a Dell inspiron with the DJ Io , a kam digimini and a numark M4 mixer. My processor is a pentium i5 and it all seems to handle pretty well, It handles video well too inclding karaoke through a BenQ projector or via an LCD screen. Plus with the dell you get 4x USB's and a hdmi out which is great for video.
To be fair I went for the i5 due to the multitasking capabilities and its abilty to handle video.. as my old Lappy was a core2 and could not handle vdj and run the video through the projector. I took a look to see what the pentium was like on your spec versus the i5 and found this...

Toshibas are nice , my first laptop for DJing was a toshiba and it worked fine for years, I am using an HP DV6 now . and have been for the last few years, and it has performed flawlessly , By far my favorite, if you shop around you should be able to find one in your price range, thats about what i paid for mine, Good luck !!
