Topic: hercules rmx and vdj - external audio interface

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

hi there,

i'm not satisfied with the audio interface quality of the rmx anymore. so i'd like to use the rmx just as a mixer, while adding an external audio interface.

actually, i'm searching for the right interface. what i need is:

the capability of processing the 2 digital (vdj-) channels to the rmx and

a 3rd channel for my built-in pc soundcard (for internet- and winamp-processing). which might not be necessary anymore, if the interface could do this job...

two outputs for master and monitor and

of course i want to keep the headphones on the rmx.

the sound quality should be as awesome as possible (in the mentioned priceclass) and

the power supply should be not via usb, but extra.

and, important, too: i don't want to spend more than 150 € :)

it might be possible to get rid of the rmx in a while and to change to a fully analogue 4-channel mixer. so, the soundcard should be able to do that job, too.

does anybody here have any experiences with a setup like this? any suggestions?

aditionally i can't really imagine how to do the wiring then...maybe, somebody could give me a hint...

nobody there?

At first I was starting to respond that your wishlist (10 outputs) couldn't match up with your budget. There's no soundcard with those specs (including a decent / professional sound) for €150,- or less.
But I did a little search and found this offer: (be quick... Be very quick, only 4 available) >>CLICK<<
I've bought mine new for over €430,-... It sounds that good that if it's not in use on a gig it's part of my studio setup.
You should have a FireWire connection on your PC. And check if your LE-version supports the external soundcard, otherwise you have to buy yourself a Full version.

[EDIT]: It's got 8 analog and 2 digital outputs. But without your analog mixer you won't need them for now, because the 2 decks from your RMX have to be send to 1 stereo out. (you'll mix both channels with your RMX).
If you buy yourself your mixer, you can use the booth and monitor out from the mixer, so in that setup you've got enough with 8 (4 stereo) outputs.
- out 1/2: Deck left
- out 3/4: Deck right
- out 5/6: Sampler
- out 7/8: Your Winamp / internet out.
