Hello, I hope someone can help me. I downloaded the Home Edition of Virtual DJ about 6 months ago. It's only in the last month or so that I realised you could use the keyboard to function as a control deck (slow of me I know).
I've seen the tab for the mapping and I know you can change the keys to do different things. But what I would like is a printout of what the various keys do by default. Once I've mastered this (ahem) maybe then I can look at changing things around.
I am hoping after Xmas to get a Numark IDJ3 but I thought if I got to know the functions this way then it would make me appreciate my controller more.
Apologies if this query has appeared before. I did have a quick look.
Thanks in advance.
PS. Title should read Mapping Layout.

That's brilliant. But I think I didn't make myself clear.
What I was after was what each default key does. So for instance, from memory, the space bar plays the music, the F1 key plays a sample, another key may change the pitch etc.
Like I said I know it shows me on the mapping tab but there dosen't seem to be a way to copy and paste what each key does for the various functions so that I could have a sheet in front of me to refer to.
Sorry to be a pain.
Thanks again for your (prompt) help.

I don't think that exists, to find out you could go into the mapper, select "new" then hit the key you want to look at, copy and paste into notepad to create a list, then paste it here to help other user with the same problem in the future...
I would do it, but mine is heavily modified..

Thanks for replying so quickly again.
Am I missing something here though? Is the only way to know which keyboard keys do what is by learning as one goes along with nothing to refer to? I appreciate that people map their own keys to their own preferences but as I’m just starting I don’t really know what the functions do/can do never mind which key they are assigned to.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not ungrateful especially as the software is free and it does look brilliant. I’m sure 95% of people have a controller when using this so it’s not an issue. But I would have thought there was a “cheat” sheet to refer to just to get you started.
As I see it I will have to type out what each key does manually from the default setting and create my own “cheat” sheet.
Unless anyone else knows any different.

Err, I did try that but it didn't work. It did seem the obvious option. I'll have another go over the weekend. It's probably me doing something wrong.
Cheers
