Ok
I don't frequent the boards often but I need some quick help my mixer died on my small portable system Thursday night
Before I begin the system consists of is a laptop a mixer and Numark DMC2, witless mic, external sound card and a probox 4bay Hard drive enclosure
So needing a new mixer asap I went on the hunt to buy a replacement mixer my thought was buy one with usb inputs so I could get rid of the external sound card ..so bought a used Numark CM200USB . I realized after purchasing it that it is made to be hooked up as player A usb1 and player B usb2. My laptop on has 3 USB ports and I normally use a trackball mouse as I hate the pads on laptops
I haven't even received the mixer yet so I can't even try to play with it so I figured I would ask here
Is it possible to use just one usb for both player A and player B,,,and use the audio fader on the DMC2 ..or can you suggest another option
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Ed

Yes, use one usb input from your computer, then you'll need to setup the mixer as your master soundcard in VDJ in advance soundcard config, you should be able to route any other device to a separate output channel within the mixer, for Headphone, Sampler, Decks, ect...
You will also need to disable your existing internal and external soundcards drivers in device manager to avoid conflicts...
Good Luck,

Ed,
you don't NEED to use the build-in sound cards. Because every channel on the mixer has 2 or 3 different inputs, you can still use your external soundcard and hook it up with your RCA's. The advantage is that you can still use the 3-line mixer and separate your decks from the sampler. For redundancy it's nice to know you've got 2 spare audiocards in case your external audiocard dies.
Don't fix on 1 concept. You've got the gear and the CM200USB is very versatile.
