looks like i can put in a SSD card in the slot, can i run the O/S on that???

more question when i get the system, but... if you wonna share anything else with me on here that i should kno about like sound cards, external sound cards, bla blah baaaaa please tell.

Maybe you should have posted in the Mac forum, lol! Yes you put the os on ssd , in fact most people are doing that then adding a second HD for storing their music and videos. Why did you go with the 17 instead of the 15 and what are the specs of this new machine?
 
I had 17" and found it hard to type on, plus the lid kept closing under its own wait when you moved it and it was slightly tilted.

this is a general discussions and ther are a few mac users on here.

i got it coz of the 3 usb so i can have my 2 cdj400 on and the third usb to have a 4 usb powered hub, and express card slot.
 
and specks a pretty much the same frpm 15 to 17
 
Does its have 2 drive bays?

Where are you putting the SSD?

I have a Macbook pro with a 256 gig Solid State Hd running Snow Leopard. I am thinking about removing the Cd/Dvd Rw drive and adding another hard drive.

express card slot i think, thats why i asked.
 
it hasnt got 2 bays, iv checked it out so YOU cant use an SSD on MBP

can you remove to cd drive???
 
Yes you can. You can even do it with PC's....
