Topic: Delayed sound in my headphones?

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

My set up:

Toshiba C650 Sattelite notebook
Virtual DJ Pro basic
Creative Soundblaster X-Fi soundcard (headphones plugged into this)
Laptop speakers plugged into notebook headphone connection

Configuration:
Inputs - None
Outputs - Headphones (Master:First Card/Headphones:Second Card)
Soundcard - 2 Cards

This works as i want it to except i get a slight delay when listening through headphones compared to the sound coming out
of my speakers.

Anyone have any ideas how to solve this please? Thanks in advance.

It's called latency.

Solution: Buy a sound card intended for professional use, not a domestic/consumer card.

Managed to fix the issue by uinstalling the soundcards drivers

Hey buddy,
can you please explain in more detail how you managed to eliminate the delay?

I have the Stanton djc.4 and I'm using the virtual dj le which comes with it, but whenever I'm mixing, the buttons are all delayed, for example if I press the play key, the song won't start till maybe a second or two after I press it, same thing as for the knobs, when I'm lowering or highering the low med or hi knob there is also that same delay, this happens with all the buttons, is there anything I can do to fix this?

my usb soundcard has a delay sound, it does not match on the master....is there a fix on this one?

Hi,

I'm having the exact same problem. My setup detailed below was working fine without any delay in the headphone sound but then developed the fault last week. I've tried uninstalling the soundcard drivers but no change.

Set up:

Sony Vaio laptop purchased new last year. It's an i3-2310M (2.10 Ghz) wth Windows 7 Home Premium, 4 GB RAM, 64-bit.
Virtual DJ Pro basic
2x USB soundcards

Configuration:
Inputs - None
Outputs - Headphones (Master:First Card/Headphones:Second Card)
Soundcard - 2 Cards

Any help appreciated.

I, actually, would love the ability to add a delay to the headphone PFL to compensate for sound system and EQ delay.

The solution was given earlier in this thread.

Delay (latency) is caused by basic/budget sound cards supplied with computers for domestic use.

Using professional equipment which has low latency drivers will eliminate the problem.
