I bought a pair of Numark Redwaves they are pretty sturdy & sound good.
 
Anyone come across the beats by dre fakes? Theres heaps across the internet. Youtube it, you can see people doing the side by side comparison. I was strolling through the markets the other day and so many people were selling them it was crazy. I had a good listen to them and IMO they are an awesome deal for what they are.

Note I am not condoning the purchase of "fakes"
 
Budget headphones, come on man you can be that skint! a decent pair of Sony's or something aren't that expensive.

Would never by Numark headphones, it would be like using a Numark mic!

PS, I use 1 cup of a HDJ1000.

@Charlie Wilson - Now that you mention the Pioneer HDJ-1000 headphones, a sales rep at one of the stores I was checking out headphones at did tell me he was a huge fan of the Sony v700, but he bought a pair of these Pioneers and loved them. He mentioned they're comparable to the Sony v700 in quality and the biggest difference was how they're built; they don't break as easy. He said it would be the last pair of headphones I'd buy. Sounded like a typical sales pitch so I walked away, mainly due to the price difference, but also because they were the only set NOT on display and he wouldn't open the box. Guess they might be worth looking into as well.

The Sonys are just as good, just buy a pair and when they snap in half dont sweat it just use the one cup, if your a mobile guy you'll be fine.
 
I own quite a few Numark products and they are definetly decent, I bought my Numark Redwave's on sale for $50.00 & I am satisfied for mobile use, everyone has there own opinion.
 
umm so I take it you use a Numark mic as well then lol
 
Well unless you've tried them I don't think its right to criticize them in the least bit. We use them in our booths when we do tradeshows all the time.

What's up Everyone,

In the past I bought so many budget headphones, that I could have bought 2 really good headphones. I've had the Pioneer 1000 for about 5 years. Perfect for me. I will admit when I bought it, within a month, one side broke. It was still under warranty and repaired. No problem since then, but I am now noticing sound difference, isolation issue, & the headband is getting too loose. I'm now looking to purchase the same pair or look at other brands.

Bottom Line, everyone invest in their music & equipment, & should invest in a good pair of headset that meets your budget.

I've been looking at the Numark Red Waves and after a brief search through google i couldn't find any details about their specs. Not even the Numark website reveals the technical details. I want to know their impedance, sensitivity and max input power.

I get turned off when a manufacture will try to give you a sales pitch on why their product is the best but goes out of their way to not reveal the tech specs.... It seems to me that they are trying to hide something or don't want you to compare with other brands.

Has anyone used the Shure 750DJ Headphones - They are very similar in price the red waves and are very close in specs wise to the pioneer HDJ1000's but $50 cheaper

That's a very good point that know one else has mentioned yet, it's ok making them look cool by adding a nice red colour to them but whats the build and spec? usually Numark build inferior products as their built to a budget hence I suspect the reason for not displayed the specs.

Seems Numark only do one lead microphone and that doen't have any spec's with it either.

I have always been a Denon DJ by preference. For build, features & quality I have been more than happy with them. If it works for you & is making you money it's all good. Many out there do not like Denon for whatever reason.

I found when I was in the consumer electronics business that every manufacturer makes great & not so great products in their line. Same goes for DJ equipment & brands.



 
I was talking about Numarks lead mic, I was trying to offer a reason as to why they do not include specs with some of their products.

Was the only reason I could think of, I'm not saying don't use Numark!
 
 

If you're using them daily then I don't recommend any budget pair - you'll be better off in the long run investing in a quality pair such as the Pio HDJ's which are designed for daily abuse.
