I played at a local bar couple weekends ago and net search went out. but I believe it was because in the bar you get poor cell service, and everyone with a smart phone connect to it. I carry my own router hook it to theirs and use that connection now.

Hi, Is netsearch also working on Virtual DJ Le Update Version ?

I don't do a lot of gigs....probably about 2 a month as I am a mobile DJ.....& I have a couple of questions about netsearch..... 1. Is it worth the money as I mainly play hip hop & r&b music new & old... 2. Is it reliable....I mean it is the internet so I'm sure it crashes every now & then but how often??? 3. How often is the music updated???? (Sorry, I googled it but not finding the answers to my questions) It's about 2 be spring/summer so my gigs will be picking up & I can use my phone as a mobile hotspot to connect to the net to use this feature for the gigs that I'm at that doesn't have wifi... but I figured it would be a nice backup to have for certain requests...

The money end is up to you, its worth it to me, but I work 6 days a week. I prob spend $150 or more a month staying up to date on music, so that little extra for netsearch is small price to pay to have a customers request instantly.

As far as reliability goes, the audio is pretty much always accessible if the internet connection is good and I use my phone as a hotspot. If it has a check mark you can pretty much bet on it being a good clean track. I typically don't try to download the videos, because half the time they won't download, and a lot of the time their not edited for djing, They'll have intros and breaks without any music, or they have sound effects from the video in them. Might just be me but the sound of cars starting and doors shutting playing over the PA during a song just doesn't seem professional to me.

The music is always pretty much up to date. If it's out there somewhere on the internet, then it will typically be available on netsearch. Every once in a while someone will ask for something and I can't find it on netsearch, but it will be on Amazon or Itunes.

If I'm playing somewhere where I'm not sure about the internet, I always manually refresh the cache authorizations ahead of time.

ContentUnlimited (ex Premium Membership/Netsearch) works in LE versions that are 6.1 or higher. Visit your Download Center http://www.virtualdj.com/download/updates.html to get the latest available LE version for your controller.
The Video Plan and Karaoke Plans require LE version 7.4, but i suppose you are interested in the audio Plan as the LE versions do not support Video in full screen.
There is no setting to login the Service, but if you search for a song and Netsearch provides results, as soon as you load a song on a deck, a window will pop-up to login.

I have just got a new computer and I copied the virtual dj folder over on to it. When I open up virtual dj all my playlists are there but when i try to play a song it says error on deck 1. These are songs in my net search cache I have refreshed the cache too but it does not seem to work. Any idea's?

Playlists are drive and path specific. Copying them across to a new computer will only work if you put the files in exactly the same location on the new computer (Same drive, folder path and file names.) Otherwise you will need to manually edit the paths in each playlist. Please see http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/How%20do%20I%20transfer%20the%20software%20from%20my%20old%20computer%20to%20my%20new%20computer.html

You should be able to add the cached files back by right-clicking on the ContentUnlimited folder and choosing Add to Search DB. Then right-click again and choose the option to refresh the cache authorisations.

How do I download songs from vdj net search to play with out a internet connection later?

I believe you right-click on the file then select download to cache.

Correct, but you must connect to the internet and re-authorize every 30 days. So if you re-authorize before you leave for the gig, you will be fine.
