I want one....guess I need to look into selling my 3700's. When is that thing coming out??

Whats good about this controller? what features make it better than it's predecessor.

I'll take whos ever 3700's at a reasonable price, lol!!

No details have been released yet.

Looks to me like a CD player though, rather than one for primarily playing digital media like the HS5500.

If it can take an internal SATA hard drive and has two completely separate outputs then I may just
move on from my 5500s.......but it doesn't look promising.

I have noticed that all the decks with built in HDs were not popular. Maybe thats why many new decks dont have have them.

All the decks? How many have there been? I can think of three at most.

And when you say decks, does that include the Denon HD2500 - one of the most popular all-in-one hard drive players with mobile DJs?

The others - well there was the Numark HDX, which was too expensive and butt ugly. Then there was a Cortex unit. We'll ignore that one!

Leaving the HS5500, which (in the UK at least) was never actually sold at retail with the hard drive fitted. Only as either an empty MIDI controller/media player, or with the CD drive. I think that was a bad move, as it meant that some people never actually realised the units potential. Then Denon killed it off (apparently due to the economy, not because it was a bad product).

I loved the DN-HS5500! It had great features, if the can give some of those features to the new deck I will consider it.

The HD2500 is not a popular controller. If it was popular, then why did the price drop soo many times ? 899, 699, 499, etc and now discontinued. Could it be low sales ? The populer Deck is the HC4500 which is still being sold today. The Hc4500 has a better layout and also 5 cue points which the HD2500 doesnt. You also have the Numark DDS80 controller. Not popular & its also discontinued. Companies cant make money off of not poular decks. They take a chance making one and if it doesnt sell well, they drop the prices. If it still doesnt do well, they discontinue it.

Really become a fan boy of the 37's over the plastic gear, these look like a step up.
Don't think I saw any at the show however.

I Cant wait to get my hands on them . I really want to mess around with the platter to see if its better than the 3700.

I'm speaking from direct experience of what mobile DJs in the UK use.

The HC4500 is not a deck, it's a controller. I have one but I don't use it because it requires a computer and DJ software in order to function.

The units I've been referring to don't - they're stand alone players.

I disagree. It is a popular player (in the UK). Mobile DJs still use them, and used units still sell. Even the earlier D2 Director is popular and sells on the used market here.

There are two distinct markets. The club guys probably wouldn't use one of the above rack mount units, but mobile DJs like stuff that racks up and can be carried in one case with their mixer. Again, from a UK perspective.

Back to the topic, the 3900s...

I have my ever reliable Numark HDXs (legacy) put ti sale to upgrade for the 3700s. This news will definitely change my mind.

I might just keep them and wait til these 3900s become available.

Does the original poster have a pair of these then?

Here are some of a short demo:

PART - 1

PART - 2

On this video shows the platter i think a bit wider than S3700.

They are not even shipping yet ...

The OP was making reference to the Skratchworx posting that a link was provided for.

The picture in the OP's post was a crop of a picture from Skratchworx ...

I have changed the topic title since it is misleading.

Cheers.

I can't see a real difference .Only more Hot cues and cosmetic changes , not a big update .

I think there's more "beneath the skin", going by what's been said on the Denon forum so far (which isn't much).

It might look very similar to the 3700 but it seems as if it'll have some unique capabilities (unless it's another "New Species" style tease, and it turns out to be just another CD player).

Hell I would like to see the DN3700s platters working with the double resolution
