Hi, i use a pc and virtual dj 7, I have created a number of red folders. I have copied all my music onto an external hard drive, however none of the red folders showed up on the external hard drive. Is there a way to get them onto the external drive or do I have to recreate them there. What a job that will be if that is what I have to do.

Thanks for any help anyone can give me,
Steve

Hello, Im not sure exactly what your trying to do, But If your saying your trying to get your music on VirtualDJ while they remain on your hard drive this is what you do.

1. First look in the bottom right hand side where you see all of your folders/etc.
2. Scroll up to where you see my computer. (Make sure your external hard drive is plugged in at the time)
3. Click the + button beside my computer to view your files. You should now see your external hard drive.
4. Click your external hard drive and click all files on your hard drive that contain music. This will copy them to virtualdj making them visible when searching for music. They will not be visible in searching while the hard drive is not plugged in.

If you are trying to make a red folder for maybe a list of songs for a certain party do this.

1. Create the red folder by right clicking the folder section of the actually VirtualDJ program.
2. You should see Create a New Virtual Folder. Click It and Name your folder.
3. You should now see the folder you have just created. To put music in your folder simply search the song and drag it over to the folder. It will then be saved to the folder

Hope this helped

The "Red" Folder are the Virtual Folders. Those do not actually belong to a Hard Drive. You could have songs in there from all of your Hard Disks.

Virtual Folders are stored in the Main Database located in the Documents\VirtualDJ folder
So if you plug your ext. Hard Drive into a computer, it needs the main database to display your VirtualFolders.
