Posted this in the hardware form last week with no response.Thought I would try here,if a moderator could remove the other post that would be great.
Last night was using a fogger, when my rmx stopped getting a signal.Had to shut down and reboot, luckily it was the beginning of the night. So I unplugged the fogger, the rmx was in the same power, plugged the fogger into a different plug and all was well.Courius if anyone eles had this problem,or what might have caused it.

Fog is water, water and electronics Don't mix, so keep a fan by your equipment and relocate the fogger away from it or you will screew up everything electronic which includes your computer...
Good Luck,

Don't think that was the problem .It seemed that when I hit the switch for the fog it shorted out my connection. My rmx and ac power are far away from each other as to have no water or liquid damage.

Could have been a surge in the circuit at the time, would buy a surge filter strip to protect your stuff from frying..

It will happen if your connected to say the chiller cabinets on the bar ring main, try and keep them seperate, it's the amps pulling usually on motor circuits or heating elements that causes this.

had an rmx but cant remember but i thought this was not ac power.
i remember i used to get bad glitches when connected to pub freezers ect.
have you checked usb lead and make sure you connect rmx to same usb port you used when installing drivers.
but as stated above always keep fog ect on seperate boards to equipment.i now always plug lights/fog into seperate plugs

hmm now im curious. The RMX is bus powered so shouldnt the laptops adapter protect you from surges, especially minor ones caused by dimmer enabled equipment or circuits?

yup always plugged into the same port.Never had the prob before.Like I say once I unplugged the fogger from the same power source as my computer and into a different outlet all was good.Very curious

That's not the only link: You also got a connection with your mixer / amp / rack etc. My very first controller (a Console MK2) was killed because the equipment it was connected to was badly grounded, took out the output of the controller the moment a fridge started...

I've been using my RMX, as well as the 4MX and a plethora of other controllers, for years now. Not once have I had any issues with them just stop working. But, as pointed out, I always connect them to the same USB port!!!
