Howdy,
I recently began using headphones to preview tracks. I followed the instructions listed here and everything worked great until this weekend.
I'm using a laptop and external USB sound card. I have vdj set to headphones and use the USB card for the mains and the laptop sound card for the headphones. That part I know is set up correctly.
This weekend if the pfl button was pressed on deck 1 then the volume slider for deck 1 would not work. It would play deck 1 at full volume. The crossfader would also not work and deck 1 would just keep blaring at full volume. If I switched the pfl button to deck 2 evrything would work on deck 1, but not deck 2.
Help!

You maybe having troubles in the soundcard config. If the soundcard setup is not correct the result would probably having one channel nothing or you can only hear the sounds only in one channel that is because the routing of the soundcard is maybe incorrect. Try tweaking it by changing the soundcard setups and you will get it right. Setting 2 soundcards or a USB muti-channel soundcards in VDJ as you maybe didn't try so far so the configuration as follows:
If your USB soundcard support multi-channel outputs you can try this setting below:
Input: NONE
Output: MASTER Chan 1&2 / HEADPHONE Chan 3&4
Soundcards - 4 Out USB soundcard (multi-channel)
The main mix and the headphones will be sent to your USB soundcard, and if you soundcard support multi-channel the preview through the headphone will be supported.
Or try to invert you soundcard settings:
Input: NONE
Output: MASTER/MAIN First Card & HEADPHONE: Second Card
Soundcards: Two Soundcards
> 1st: USB as your Output to your speaker
> 2nd: Built-In as your Headphone Set
The main mix will be sent to your speakers via the USB soundcard, and the preview through your PC the headphone.
