I am currently doing a project on how DJ's and / or software engineers/developers apply themselves in a common workplace such as Native Instruments. I was wondering if anyone could provide me with a possible explanation of how VDJ and software developing goes hand at hand in terms of programming, and what the common workplace is like.

I'm not sure I actually understand the question?

I will just contact the staff themselves.

I am staff - as a developer and a DJ I didn't understand your question that was all.

So let's break down your question --
We are not Native Instruments, therefore; we can not tell you about how they apply themselves.
Okay, you want DJ's in the common workplace ? Or, Software Engineers/Developers in the common workplace ? Or, is it you want to know about Software Engineers, who are DJs and developing a software application?
You had someone reply then you blow them off ??? Hmm, guess you don't need information that bad.
See this is where you lost everyone. VirtualDJ is a software that is constantly in development. But you want to know how it goes "hand at hand" and in the "terms of programming"? I don't think you truly know what you are asking for. Because to tell you how VirtualDJ is developed would be giving away the whole program for anyone to then just go build their own replica.
What is a 'common workplace' ?
These days there is nothing common about a workplace if you are a software developer. You could be couped up in a cube-farm with a bunch of other developers or have the luxury of distant work environments from home or on the road.
So - what is your real questions?
