Hello,
I just purchased an American Audio VMS4.1 MIDI controller and it was pretty much plug and play; works well with VDJ7 Pro. However, I cannot use the left touch strip to scroll through folders and the right touch strip to scroll through songs in the browser. If I hold SHIFT and move my finger up and down the strip it performs the SEARCH function and you can move through the track's soundwaves at the very top. When I don't hold the SHIFT button the strips don't do anything.
I have seen several videos online of people using the touch strips on the controller for these functions including featured videos from American Audio. The controller specs says that it has assignable MIDI touch strips. Is the default setting for them not to do anything?
Do I need to use the controller with VDJ LE software it was bundled with in order to have the strips perform those functions? Or does anyone know the term I need to map the strips to that function? I tried to map them for over an hour and it isn't working, I can get them to slide down but not down AND UP.
Or does someone have the link to a mapping file I can use that uses the strips in this way?
I am running it on Virtual DJ Pro 7 on a Windows 7 laptop.
I tried the controller on a friend's computer running Traktor 2 and the strips perform the browser scroll function when you hold the SHIFT button, but I would prefer to use VDJ.
Thanks For Your Time

Looks like ADJ didn't fix them when they updated the product then....
People who bought the original VMS4 found the same thing.
Apparently what happened was that the spec of the internals was altered (lowered) before mass production began.
So the very early units you see being used in those videos (when it was still called the Velocity controller) did have that functionality but the ones that shipped out to customers were (apparently) of a lower spec.

im useing the mapper by djdad for the original vms4.
but he assigned the touch strips to the effect instead of the folders/menues
id recomend loading the mapper and testing if there is still a defect in the strip or if its the mapping thats not working.

Replied to the other topic. Please dont post the same Q to multiple topics.
You can delete the action assigned to the TOUCHSTRIPS from CONFIG-->Mappers tab
