Hi all,

Is there any way of making the sampler volumes the same volume as the channel volumes?

I've played around with the volume levels at home before a gig and set them where I think they maybe ok on my home setup but find that if I use them at a gig on my pa speakers they are eigther too quiet or way too loud (obviously depends on the volume that the music is playing at).
So is there a way of setting something up so they automatically match the main output volumes??

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I have the same issue and frustration. Apart from using a 3 or 4 deck skin and playing the samples on a "dedicated" deck. The volumes have to be manually controlled through the VDJ sampler. A lot of ppl. have complained about this and it is expected that VDJ 8 will have a vastly improved sampler to put it on par with something similar to Traktors, hopefully. For now, if you are a"sample heavy" DJ, I would fire them off of a separate deck like I mentioned.

I run an external mixer so I just route the sampler to it's on channel. If your using a MIDI controller it might not be possible.

I knew that you had a way of doing that Beat, that you had told me before when I had the same question...lolol...Here's hoping that the VDJ 8 takes some "Tracktor tips" and gives use a dedicated sample deck(s)......Multi-colored wave forms and easily chainable FX!!.....

A midi controller with a dedicated stand alone mixer would work, provided it had the extra channel, correct?....a la Denon MC3000????

Not having access to a MC -3000 I would say if you could route the sampler through it's own channel on the soundcard then map the volume slider to control the samplers volume you'd be golden.......

Hi jusblaze246 and beatbreaker1,

I'm using an NS6 and the 4 deck VDJ skin so maybe for now I'll just have to use one of the other decks for samples as you suggested. I don't use them often and have only had the NS6 for a couple of months so haven't quite stretched to mixing four decks yet (it's a big change from my RMX).
So fingers crossed VDJ8 will make this a little easier, so far it sounds like it's going to be awsome.

Thanks for your advice.

I'm also using an NS6. It happens to me all the time because VDJs master_volume doesn't effect the sampler.

When that NS6 gets old, lemme know!....I want but, too poor....or too bad to get good $$ for gigs.......either way!Q = ( .....lololol
