Hey guys.

I'm looking for an effect that's able to do what Dubfire does here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0vn2AHQhGo&l (see 33:45 min mark), which is to grab the audio from the track, echo it, and sort of slow down the echo, without affecting the tune itself.

I've tried the EchoDoppler, but it messes up the audio and makes a big mess.

Tips?

You could get fairly close using chackl's "rollit 2.0". It is a loop roll effect that grabs a 1 beat sample of the tracks audio and repeats with a variable size set on one of the sliders. you can also control the playback speed with a different slider. If you want to have the track playing at the same time you would just need to set the wet dry slider at or around 50%.

With vdj script you could make a macro on a button or knob or both to handle everything. All of this would only be possible once you have VDJ Pro though as effects and mapping are not possible in VDJ LE unless you activate the Pro trial.

Didn't really work, I'm afraid.

One other question: is there any effect that'll let me use the loop function on my controller and allow me to keep 'reducing' the loop in order to improve my transitions? Or maybe a way that I can map my keyboard to do so? Ideally, an effect with a designated knob would be cool, because then I'd be able to use my Mixtrack Pro for that (haven't really worked out how to do it on the looping function itself, I'm afraid).

keyboard
loop 50%
loop 200%

endless encoder
param_smaller 0% ? loop 50% : loop 200%

Man, you know a lot about this stuff. Thanks. Might as well ask: how can I do what Dubfire does http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0vn2AHQhGo& around the 14:16 minute mark? Sort of a reverb+delay kind of thing that doesn't seem to affect the beat or the track itself.

Well it looks like he's using an Allen & Heath Xone DB4 there, which has got loads of very high quality effects on board, so it could be a DB4 effect.

Going by the other controllers, he's also using Traktor and Maschine, so it could be a Traktor preset or a VST plugin.
