Yes, it's possible with Essential Media plugin. You should make a two instances of that plugin. First plugin should be used for loading cdg+mp3 files on the screen and the background will be transparent. The second one will allow you to load any video or flash background. Loading cdg+mp3 files over the VDJ decks will not give you the transparent background. There was a thread about it a while ago, but I don't know does it exist any more. Hope this will help you...

I've had good results using the Sonique and other visuals faded in with the karaoke. play around with multiple decks, transparency settings, and such..

You may have better luck posting in the Spanish forum. but, to answere your question. The karaoke plugin is in the effects tab, under visual effects. it comes pre loaded with VDJ. If you can't find it there, you may have to reinstall as it is not in the effects downloads.

The initial poster is asking for a background to Karaoke files, using soniques will only give you an overlay effect and covers the on screen words giving to much of a distraction to the singer, no matter how much transparency you use.

I forgot to say there are two ways to get karaoke transparent in VDJ. The first one is with Essential Media plugin and mp3+g files (described up there):
See example: http://youtu.be/20ldHkMmICo
The second way is with Firetext plugin and karaoke files in video format. Convert your mp3+g files to video format and load it into the VDJ screen over Firetext plugin. There are options inside the plugin to choose the colour of the background to be transparent.

I've already described it all, just find that thread. Cheers...
