Topic: Simple MIDI controller suggestion

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

I know what a crime, I have never used a Midi controller on my Virtual DJ.
I would like to have the feel of a play button. Can you recommend a controller that is simple and trouble free to get that?
Without breaking the bank...maybe $300 range
Greatly appreciated!!

Numark Mixtrackpro
Good quality budget controller with a decent sound card.

you should push your budget a little further and get the Reloop Terminal Mix 2... It won't need to be replaced for a long time whereas the mixtrack is likely to fault if you get rough with it.

Or you could get the Stanton DJC.4 for about $350.. it is made much better than the mixtrack, has an ASIO soundcard with 4 inputs for timecode, and has a combination of all the controls you need.

Never knew about that Stanton and it seems legit........... anybody have a hands on with it?? I love that it has buttons for loops, hot cues and the sampler!! No more shift crap, lol!!

There ya go!

P.S. amazon text says it includes Virtual DJ 8 LE but that must be a mistake?

RMX2 is the way to go! Not only is this an easy controller to use, the sound on it is simply SICK! VDJ 7 works fine with this one!

Is a big mistake, they placed a sticker in the box covering the information about vdj 8, now for 300$ you can buy Reloop beatmix with vdj 7 included, Pioneer wego, Denon mc2000 and this Hercules rmx2

I can vouch for the DJC4, is feature rich including hardware master volume, mic and emergency through input. The soundcard works well at low latency as long as the "ultra low latency" option is checked (the default scratch latency tweak makes the platters response time fantastic), housing seems very well built. It has video functions as well though I don't do videos, but if you don't do videos like me that leaves you open to map even more functions to the unit. On the con side, the pitch faders are a little short, the sample volume only seems to work for sample 1 most of the time, and for some reason the fx section on the right deck is different than the layout of the left, but those are my only gripes. Haven't used timecodes or inputs except the emergency through, but overall I think it's probably better than any of the others in it's price range, though I haven't used any other of the newer controllers.

It doesn't sound like you have much interest in MIDI controllers, so if $300 was max then I'd say go for kradcliffe's suggestion. If you want to go more than it seems the djc.4 is well worth the price.

Here is my suggerstion..
mixtrack pro and similar controllers does the job to a cretin level but they are all plastic and are very limited... but if you are gonna spend 250-300 why not go 1 step further. you can get a american audio vms 4.1 for 350 on ebay that has 4 decks any inputs and outputs you could ever ask for and work as a digital controller or a anlog mixer all at once.. so for $100 more you could get your self a mixer that you could run a whole club with for years..

what if I am already using the soundcard through my Rane mp25? I just want a controller to get the feel of real buttons for mixing and play/pause etc.....appreciate all the great ideas

Mixtrack without the pro? It's about $150
