So I am still fairly new, but I found a great place in the NJ-DE-PA tri-state area for DJs. It's called The International DJ Cafe. They are held on slower nights of the week. In New Jersey, they are held on Tuesday nights. I was just at the event last night. It's is also streamed live on ustream at each location.

It's like an open mic night for DJs. From beginners to main stream/experienced DJs, it's open to all types of DJs. The goal is to network, come out, spin and enjoy the craft of the DJ. The majority of the DJs that spin use vinyl and Serato, and I have seen a few guys using traktor and a few guys using controllers. You are encouraged to bring your gear and setup for at least a 15 minute open set. Spin whatever you want, however you want. Videos, house, top 40, hip hop, reggae, reggaeton... You can always try to get in for a second set if there is enough time. Last night, just before I got there, they did a "round robin" of 5 DJs to disco. Mixing by ear to what the last guy put on, and each DJ had about a 60sec window to keep it going.

I am posting because I have yet to see anyone else going in with VDJ. I have seen a few people listed to be in this area, and I would love to meet you guys at one of these events if possible.

The night starts at 9, and goes until the bar closes. I dont know if I can post anymore detailed info about the place, but I know if you look up "The International DJ Cafe" you can find info. or drop me a PM and hopefully I'll be able to catch you there. Again, they are held in the NJ-DE-PA tri-state area, so the locations will vary as well as the night of the week.

I am going to try to work on a set with my controller, so that I can give it a shot.

I didn't see any section on the forum for regions other than the language section, so if there is one, can a Mod please move this? Thanks.

What a great Idea!!..actually there was a dj cafe here in San Francisco (and actually I'm now 60 miles north, spending time with my aging father..lol) and also a Dj Laundry mat (in the mission,S.F.)...but everybody knows how I love my coffee!!

Sounds like a hot place!
