is there a way to remove "files that don't exist" from the software programm? I've got about a two hundred files that don't exist anymore I think.
"clean" and "fix" don't seem to work.

go to CONFIG -> Browser, choose each drive in turn where you have music stored and click on CHECK and then FIX.
You can remove the old redundant database entries for songs that no-longer exist by clicking on CLEAN
