Topic: Tempo fluctuations: VDJ 7.3 + VCI-400

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

Hey guys,

I have an issue I've seen several times now and fairly doable to reproduce:

If my tempo faders of the VCI are not in default position and are not touched after booting VDJ, there is a very big change tracks will get out of sync because the tempo starts fluctuating. So even if you sync, they will fall out of sync.

Once I reset their position all seems fine from that point, or at least it seems.

Its an annoyance cause when you forget to reset your sliders you are slightly fucked until you do ;P

Cheers, hope someone recognizes this,

Have a greet weekend!

do you have the rmx like myself ? i havent noticed this my controller sliders can be anywhere on boot and the onscreen sliders dont move until the controller sliders have moved over that position, do you see the bpm digits fluctuating on the screen ? does it happen straight away ?

Hey BUzz4,

Its normal for the control sliders to update until you slide them for the RMX. Which can be annoying for your tempo fader. You can change that by changing the action on the fader to pitch_relative

And yeah I see the BPM jumping up and down, not straight away.. it slowely drifts off.

That sounds very stange!! So, literally you see the pitch numbers changing even though you haven't touched anything??

If it's moving, then something must be telling it to move! My best guess is a dodgy pitch fader on the vci400. I had the same sort of thing with a deck volume slider on my vci400. When I put it to full volume it would start jumping around down to half volume for a split second.

A simple solution is to buy some switch cleaner and spray a little into the pitch fader, that will clean the contacts and your pitch should stop jumping around!

Its moving indeed, but not huge jumps, like one or two steps but enough to go out of sync eventually. I never had this problem with 7.1 and immediately experienced it with 7.3. I know some code is changed for high resolution hid devices.. So I can try the switch cleaner, but its my guess its somewhere else..

Are you using timecodes? I had the same issue with my RMX when I added timecodes. I disabled clear sound and took care of the issue. Also, in setting you can have vdj reset it self in volume, pitch, fx, etc... When ever a new track is loaded.
