Topic: vdj 7.3 random deck freezing during live gigs

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

I have a problem that has occured during 2 live performances just recently and need some help with a solution if there is one.

So i am running vdj7.3 pro on dell xps 15 hooked up to vestax vci 380, and during 2 gigs i have had a song running on deck (b) and i have loaded a song onto deck (a) and so i fade deck (b) and press play on deck (a) on the vci and nothing no responce, maybe its the vci so i try pressing play in software using mouse no responce after while i figured out how to get it playing again and this was to grab the disc/record graphic using the mouse and move it back and forth to unfreeze the deck.

The rather worrying aspect of this is its random when it occurs and so to prevent it happening again i have to use the mouse to move it back and forth and play it for a few seconds to check its not stuck before i bring it in on every song i load which is not very practical.

Few simple things to try:

Try a different USB cable - just in case the lead is faulty.

Try a different USB port.

If you have created a custom mapper, move it out of the Mappers folder and restart VDJ - in case the mapper is corrupted.

Make sure you have all the latest drivers.

Try the VCI in a different lappy.

If none of these work, think back if you did any system updates or software installs on or before this started to happen. If you did, then maybe try reverting to an earlier restore point and the start over from the top.

Cheers,

Roy

thanks roy will try your suggestions and will report back

This sounds as though the touch sensor of the jogwheel was jammed on (Scratching with the VirtualDJ jogwheel would cause it to be released in the software, but the actual switch on the hardware will still be on.)

Try adjusting the sensitivity via the adjustment screws on the rear. Also, make sure that you do not have anything nearby that could be interfering with it, e.g: Cable running directly underneath it. Try also tapping the surface of the jogwheel to release it.

If this keeps happening even with adjustment, then it may be faulty.

Thanks for all your help i will continue to test and once i have found the solution i will post my findings.
