Hi, after a few attempts with running virtual dj from laptops we have decided to look at building a dedicated desktop Pc, we run Video to a projector through HDMI and audio through a usb control deck, it needs to be able the stand up to 3+ hours of use
any recommendations on parts?

Make sure you have it in a good case, with good cooling. If your mobile, or it is going to move around, get a rack mount case with motherboard and perriferal card supports. I tried a standard desktop case and had cards walk out of their socket. Then the mother board cracked from vibration.
That was the main reason I went to laptops. The other reason was it was a lot easier to pull out just the laptop and work on the music library. With the desktop, I had to pull out the rack, set up the monitor and all that goes with using a desktop.

I also went to notebook due to cards walking out and a few other issues , i would suggest this computer, it will run anything vdj can throw at it

If you must go with a PC Desktop get a good sturdy case and possibly modify the motherboard mounts so they can absorb shock
