Topic: Transfering data from VDJ Free to VDJ Pro

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

I have VDJ Pro installed on my laptop which I leave most of the time at the club where I work (don't worry, its safe there and also password protected so only I can access it).

I'd like to use the free version of VDJ on my home computer to do some file management within VDJ, such as setting up virtual crates, scanning BPMs, making playlists, etc. It would be much easier for me to do this at home rather than when I'm working at the club.

My question: if I do all this work at home within VDJ Free how can I transfer/import the new data into my VDJ Pro laptop at work? Or is this even possible?

You can also install pro in your home machine as a backup. You can sync them with an external hard drive and something like Sync Toy or via a cloud service (skydrive, Dropbox etc) if they both have Internet connections.

Shout if you need any more info.

That's good to know... I did not realize my VDJ Pro license allowed me to install a second copy on my home PC.

I don't really want to use a cloud service to manage files since I have a lot of large ones (I mostly mix music videos).

I do use an external drive at work but keep all my master files on the hard drive of my home desktop PC.

So I guess what I'm wondering is if I do all my "offline" VDJ work on my home PC with my master files, then I plug in my external drive, is it just a matter of dragging and dropping the VDJ database file? So when I plug in the external drive at work, my copy of VDJ Pro there will read everything correctly?

Yes basically. As long as the music and videos are the same on both machines.

Cool! I'll try this and will report back if there are any problems. Thanks!
