Hi all, i have recently ordered a behringer DDM 4000, and i will be running it with hercules 4-mx, does anybody know if i will need an alternative usb soundcard? Or will the 4-MX do the job? Thanks in advance

Pretty sure it's all ready to go. Read something about it coming with Virtual DJ LE, so it must have a sound card. Looked for specs on the sound card, but didn't see any.

Last time I used a DDM 4000, the mic gain structure was really bad, the mixer itself is pretty nice though tons of features, and decent sound.

I own one, and I have to say I love it, great mixer. The poster above mentioned the mic gain - it has too much! The mic gain knob only needs a slight turn to get more than enough gain, that was the case with my trusty SM58 at least. Adding some extra resistors to the circuit improved it no end for me. The other issue to be wary of is the headphone socket - on mine, the socket collapsed into the guts of the mixer one night. Turns out that Behringer's method of mounting the socket was to glue it to the underside of the faceplate. I simply removed the faceplate, filed out the hole slightly, and mounted the socket to the plate using the nut like it should have been done in the first place! Apart from these minor niggles, I have no complaints. Fantastic mixer, great that within the menu screens, you can fine-tweak just about everything from EQ frequencies to the type of compression used on the mic channel.

Thanks for the swift reply guys, i heard something about the cue in the headphones not working properly if you don't set it up right too, something about it being silent...? Is this an issue that comes with not having a seperate sound card?
Also, is it possible to use it without the midi function and just using it as an additional timecode in VDJpro? As you may tell, im not 100% sure on what im talking about and i hope i don't confuse anyone.. But if i didn't say, i am using it with a 4-MX console, which is a plug and play obviously... and would like it set up so it works in the best possible way... I just want to get a heads up on everything before i come to get it so i don't get frustrated and break it...
Thanks
Chris
