Hi,
I would like to purchase a software of virtual dj. I have a pc and im using iTunes as my music liberary.
Does anyone know if virtual dj is supporting the editing that im doing to the songs by Itunes (by editing I mean that sometimes I need to cut the end or the beginning of a song and Im doing it by using the "get info" in iTunes). Sometimes I need to use the automix, will the automix support the editing Im doing by Itunes?
I couldn't find a way how to do it when I tried to play with the home free version, and before I buy one of the pro products I need to know if it will suit my needs... Thanks!!

Simple answer is no.
You can do the same thing in VDJ however.

VirtualDJ Pro will do what you ask, but not in the same way you are doing it now.
What can be done to work in the same way in VDJ is set up cue points for start and ending of each track, you will have to do this if you play your tracks manually..
If you play your tracks from AutoMix playlist, then you will also have to set up cue points differently as follows..
Set up Cue points for AutoMix play;
1 Load a track and bring it to your start point..
2 Right click the "BPM" icon above "Hot Cue" buttons 1, 2, 3.
3 Click on the "AutoMix" tab.
4 Click on the "Set Entry Point" button.
5 Advance your track to your end point.
6 Click on the "Set End Point" button.
7 Now test your track in Automix playlist.

iTunes can do it, you just need to add a step. Once you have set your start and end point, convert the track to mp3 in iTunes and it will chop at the points you set. I used to do this to make tones for my iPhone but convert them to m4a then change the file type to m4r.

Interesting, so what your saying is the conversion within iTunes converts only from the set cue points thats been set up in iTunes Not from the file itself?

Yeah, you can use this to for a quickened dirty edit, I'd be more likely to use something like Audacity tho. Would give you more control and let you see a wave form of the track.

The one disadvantage to the method your using is, you'll wide up with a duplicate file of the same title and if you do this often it will only get more confusing to determine which one to play, among other issues...
