I have a question about VDJ search db,
I have My itunes library, I also have a bunch of desktop folders with various music on them. What is the best way to organize my music so that I can add it to the search DB. I am going to delete all my playlists and clean everything first so I can start from scratch. I am just looking for a way to organize the music on my desktop that will make it easier for VDJ to be able to find them when I search. Also once I delete my playlists what should I do to clean my Data Base so I can start over with a clean slate and do everything properly
Any help or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Derek

What I have right now is One folder on my desktop labeled music library then I have about 30 sub folders in that folder that all contain music. I use this folder along with my Itunes library for songs. I erased all my playlists and then did a Fix, Clean, Check so far everything seems to be working properly.
Thanks for the reply

Why put music on the desktop? That is just another hurdle to get through. So now, your machine has to go through "c/desktop/music/folder........
Get rid of the desktop step, and do"c/music/folder". Less steps, less time.

like joey said you should have one system not 2 for your music , if you like itunes stay with that, but have all music managed by itunes or all managed in another fashion
i don't understand .... why delete your playlists ??
also when done add to database and in config/browser.....check, clean ,fix

You don't have to move anything. You could just make your folders as favorites.
I import/buy from iTunes so I have assigned iTunes to my music folder that VDJ uses also but inside I have the different genres. When ever I rip something or buy something I just move all the songs to the genre’s folder but rename the songs as: Artist – Song name. This was a LOT of work to do for the first month or two when I was organizing all the folders but it’s just simple up keep now. I have made the Music folder a favorite as well as each Genre folder a favorite.
From all I have read on the net most people say organize them for what you will remember and what will be easy for you. This works for me but it might not work for you.
