Hi,
I'm currently using a Samsung AMD A8 laptop, Radeon HD7640g graphics with 4gb ddr3-1600 CL11; I havent had any problems with this so far
running audio/video in VDJ. I bought Kingston HyperX ddr31600 CL9 (4gb) (it was on a clearance table @ office depot, $4.93!) anybody know if
there is any advantage to changing my installed ram to the lower latency (as far as video/graphics in VDJ, not a gamer). if not, the Kingston goes on CL :)

Thanks,
Darryl

Might make your tunes load half a nanosecond faster but that's about it. With that being said, I'd still open up the laptop and compare RAM. Put the higher quality brand into the laptop and sell the other one. Errors caused by bad RAM are no fun.

Now if you want to make a noticeable difference in performance, you should consider replacing your hard drive with an SSD. That'll reduce boot times to 10 seconds or less and make everything load way faster.

thanks :) ram in the laptop now is Samsung, might change it anyway
